5. There's Not A Soul On Earth That Wants Metal Gear Survive
It's "the next Metal Gear" and it's backed by Kojima Productions' immaculate FOX Engine, but... Hideo Kojima and his team are nowhere to be seen.
Following the fallout between Kojima-san and the higher-ups at Konami, Hideo jumped ship to Sony, leaving the Metal Gear IP in the destructive hands of his former employer. Their first port of call was to create another entry in the franchise sans Kojima, and with Konami being Konami (the studio who canned Silent Hills and made pachinko machines out of their most valued IP) we're now getting a 'zombie survival' Metal Gear.
Yup - it's just about the most generic framework you could apply to any action-focused franchise, being paired with a canon that's one of the richest, most beloved and most multifaceted in gaming history. Sufficed to say that despite the marketing power behind how it's sure to be shown off in 2018, nobody wants a Metal Gear where a wormhole takes your former Mother Base soldiers and pits them against hordes of the undead.
