What? Sega finally made a good Alien game? Alien: Isolation isn't just one of the best games to come out of the sci-fi horror franchise, but also the most faithful video game adaptation of a movie's aesthetics to date. Alien: Isolation is set after the first film, as Ripley's daughter seeks to find out what happened to her mother. Trapped on the devastated Sevastopol Station, the player must avoid the titular Alien while trying to escape. It's extremely effective survival horror, and the constant threat of the Alien provides almost unbearable tension. The campaign is a touch overlong, outstaying its welcome by a couple of hours, but it does little to detract from that fact that Alien: Isolation is one of the most compelling, terrifying horror titles in years.
