Something that's been sorely missing from modern gaming is couch multiplayer. Sitting around with friends playing on the same screen is one of the most entertaining ways to game, but the whole idea of it has been generally shunned in recent years. TowerFall Ascension is an attempt to bring back the glory of couch multiplayer goodness, and it manages it spectacularly. The game pits up to four players against each other in a series of arenas, with the aim of head-stomping or shooting arrows at each other to death. Behind the simple graphics lies gameplay that's at once surprisingly deep, while easy to pick up and very difficult to put back down. TowerFall Ascension is still one of the best local multiplayer experiences out there and, considering it's cheap price, there's no reason not to pick it up.
