10 Massively Underrated Video Games Based On Movies

5. The Evil Dead

Movie Video Games
Palace

Licensed games don't get much more little-known than this one, but that doesn't mean that this 8-bit spookfest shouldn't be exhumed from its digital grave.

Created by Palace Software - who would go on to launch the Cauldron series - the game was released around then same time as the movie, meaning it got some serious flack from the video nasties mob.

In reality, The Evil Dead isn't gory and only slightly scary. Palace have crafted a fun experience where you take control of Ash as he scurries around cinema's scariest cottage, whacking ghouls with a shovel or anything else he can get (both) hands on, shutting windows so more can't get in. It's a basic but highly addictive formula.

Sorry Hail To The King, this is the deifnitive Evil Dead game.
