10 Massively Underrated Video Games Based On Movies

6. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie

Movie Video Games
Bandai

There are two different takes on this movie property worthy of mention: first up, there is the Mega Drive incarnation, which is a straight up, side-scrolling brawler that puts you in the snug suits of those lovable rangers.

Then there is the Super Nintendo version, a game that is very Capcom in its gameplay and appearance – all simple fight moves and crunching animations – where you start out as the rangers in full on teen guise, and have to kick ass to earn a mighty morph into your suit.

The best of the two is clearly the latter, with developers Natsume crafting a game that is both complex and rewarding, and you get a real kick (apologies) out of battling gangsters and monsters across familiar scenes from the movie.

Once you’ve conquered the intricate control system, boss battles against the likes of Mirrior Maniac, Silver Horns and, finally, Ivan Ooze, will be an absolute breeze. A nostalgic treat.
