10 Most Memorable Uses Of Music In Video Games

8. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves €“ Multiplayer Lobby Theme Music

Uncharted 2 I think that this was my first real multiplayer experience. Over the Internet, at least. Like I've said in articles before, I've never been into my First Person Shooters (a travesty if you ask some of my friends), and I reckon that this was the first time I got involved in this type of thing. Armed with nothing other than a headset, a whiplash tongue, and a set of slightly sweaty paws in case I should let our whole team down (we were the SJBs, if any of you are interested) I hit the multiplayer option, and waited. It took a little while to connect, but as the game loaded and my machine found the servers, the familiar bongos of the theme kicked in. I couldn't help but smile as the orchestra soared with my heart as I connected with my friends, decked my guy out in natty (and ridiculously expensive) in-game threads, and waited for the web to find us some folks to kill. I know I wasn't the only one hearing it, and I know it happened roughly a million times to a million different people, but it still felt hugely personal.
