10 Mind-Blowing Facts You Never Knew About The Last Of Us

1. The Prologue Scene Was The Toughest Day Of Troy Baker's Career

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DidjobKweCs Filming a scene that involves the death of a child obviously isn't a particularly easy or pleasurable experience for any actor, never mind when it's repeated an upwards of eight or nine takes. But when the time came to shoot Sarah's death scene for the prologue,Troy Baker gave it his all; later describing the experience as the second most difficult day of his life, with the first being the event from which he was drawing the emotion necessary to portray his character's grief. However, upon completing the scene, Baker was approached by Neil Druckmann who requested another take. Baker was understandably confused by Druckmann's request, and asked why they had to shoot it again, to which the creative director responded that he felt a more subdued performance would benefit the scene. After a few more takes, Baker achieved the effect that Druckmann was aiming for, and the result is one of the best performances in the history of the medium and a study in how underplaying a scene can enhance the impact - with Baker's measured performance placing a greater emphasis on the mechanical action of assessing Sarah's wounds, while building slowly towards the realisation that his daughter is dead. Baker later went on to call Druckmann the best director he's ever worked with, commending him for his honesty and expressing his gratitude for helping him grow as an actor. Are there any we missed?
