10 Misleading Video Game Ads That Lied To Get Your Money

5. Killzone 2

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-4HNmuEAKg What you were promised: A ridiculously good-looking next-gen experience that solidified the PS3 as the frontrunner for that generation. What you got: A downgraded mess that played as smoothly as a barrel of treacle, and looked about as good too. Sony fanboys at the time cried that this was okay, because it just trying to give you the 'idea' of the finished product. The reality, was that both Guerrilla Games and Sony themselves showed Killzone's first PS3 outing off as being in-game. They framed the action from first-person, had it play with enough weight and movement to convince the masses, and only owned up to such a thing when the world called them out on it. In retrospect, Sony came off the phenomenal success of the PS2 a bit too full of themselves. The price for the PS3 ($600) was received about as well as a bowel movement in a traffic jam, and although there was enough goodwill being thrown their way to make the console work if the games were good enough, this smoke n' mirrors stuff was just absurd.
