10 More Pointless Video Game Details That Will Blow Your Mind

8. The Flip Flops In GTA V Actually Flip And Flop

What makes GTA V's sandbox so great in comparison to open worlds in similar titles is just how overwhelmingly dedicated Rockstar are to replicating real life. Their motto is building the cities themselves first, making everything as close to reality as possible, before even thinking about how the gameplay will work in the playgrounds they've created.

This dedication to reflecting the player's everyday life is present throughout the playable characters as well, as sweat soaks through shirts when characters exert themselves, injuries appear after trips to the hospital and, yes, the flip flops actually flip flop.

A pointless detail that must have taken more time than any developer is willing to admit to get right, the throwaway feature at least received a little bit of recognition when it became something of a meme back when the title first released.

Still, considering GTA V came out in the Xbox 360 era, it's still crazy just how well it rubs shoulders with even the most detailed modern releases.
