10 Most Addictive Video Games Of 2017

1992 had Street Fighter II as the premium one-on-one fighter of choice, and while Nidhogg doesn't have the depth of a fighting game with a full roster, its decision to literally say "Here are two characters. Two players control one each. Pick up some weapons, stab one another and run to the goal" is genius.

It boils down the very nature of digital combat in video games to its purest essence. There are large broadswords clashing in mid-air, arrows being dodged as high-flying kicks knock an opponent down a ravine, opening up the path to victory for just a second - unless that person respawns and comes crashing back in for the counter.

As frenetic and ridiculous as it looks and sounds, if any gamer ever wants a game to play in local multiplayer, it should always be Nidhogg.
