10 Most Addictive Video Games Of 2017

Destiny 2 Raid
Bungie

If Activision and Bungie were to ever truly get their act together, they could make a Destiny sequel that felt like one of the best games of all time; one of the best pieces of entertainment - of digital ephemera plugging into your brain and flicking your primal cortex - in human history.

The shooting and general sensation of movement, explosions of colour and kinetic 'pull' from one thing to another is exemplary - the only downside is that there isn't more of it. This year saw Destiny actually gain a story; a sense of just WTF was going on, alongside a villain to take down and memorable hero characters to buddy up with.

Following that you've got the weekly-resetting Nightfall strikes and raids geared towards teams of players working in tandem for hours at a time. All of which - if you've a penchant for FPS combat and loot-drops - is like hooking a stream of pure candy to your bloodstream and hitting "Play".
