10 Most BROKEN Video Game Launches Of The Generation
4. Assassin's Creed: Unity
It'd be fair to say that the stakes were high for the first "proper" next gen Assassin's Creed title. Black Flag was incredible, but it wasn't really a technical showcase as it was on the current generation too.
So, all the stops had to be pulled out for Unity to really cement the series on the new generation. Well, it got one of those things right. It certainly left its mark.
We all know it for the infamous picture above, or thereabouts, but that wasn't the only problem the game suffered with. Terrible collision detection, poorly rendered Paris and just a multitude of bugs spoiled this title.
It could have been so much more, with Ubisoft using the framework from Splinter Cell and previous games to make a functioning co-op system. But not even killing in style with your friends came easy, with matchmaking and synchronisation/lagging issues running rampant across all formats.
This was not the reinvention that Ubisoft had planned, marring the franchise as another cookie cutter game rushed out for the new consoles. Thankfully, the break after Syndicate did cut them some slack.
