10 Most BROKEN Video Game Launches Of The Generation

5. Mass Effect: Andromeda

Mass Effect Andromeda
Electronic Arts

"All you had to do, EA, was follow the damn formula".

Mass Effect, regardless of your opinion on the ending, was a masterful trilogy. Epic space-faring, galaxy-saving, teammate-recruitin' action and story that left it somewhat open to be expanded on down the line.

Bioware were still riding fairly high at this point, and EA were... still EA. But the groundwork was there, the fanbase was there - this had to be a surefire hit for the current [new] generation of consoles and PC gaming. It was Mass Effect - it shouldn't fail.

But as always, just because it shouldn't doesn't mean it won't. And it failed, hard.

What was your favourite glitch? Was it characters T-posing and clipping through environments? How about duplicating themselves when animations required them to move? Or how about faces contorting like they're trying to suck food off of their top lip with grim determination?

The most egregious part of this game's development, however: It had a reported budget of C$100 million. That's blockbuster movie money, and this was what we got in return; a game as buggy as Ride to Hell: Retribution.
