10 Most Cringeworthy E3 2015 Moments
5. EA Holds Star Wars To Ransom
There was only one thing on the minds of gamers going into EA's conference this year and that was Star Wars. Whether it's the upcoming Battlefront, the unannounced title coming from Visceral Games or the wealth of games being worked on that players have absolutely no idea about, Star Wars is quickly becoming the publisher's prized pig.
However, the problem is that EA themselves understand this too, and will tease and manipulate the brand to suit themselves. The company's reliance on the franchise has never been more apparent than during this year's E3 presentation, where a banner kept popping up at the bottom of the screen counting down to the time until Star Wars would make an appearance, almost as an attempt to remind the audience that there's definitely something to look forward to once all the sports, kids and mobile games were out the way.
Sadly the constant reminder didn't entice excitement in watchers from home, as the longer it was drawn out, the more everyone realised that the company was relying on the franchise to keep potential players watching the conference as a whole, and only cemented the creeping thought that EA wasn't going to have any surprise announcements or jaw-dropping moments that weren't Star Wars at 2015's showing.
