10 Most Disappointing Video Games Of 2021
9. Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection
Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection is far from the most disappointing remaster 2021 has seen, but it's certainly the most forgettable. And for a series as long overdue a comeback as this, that's such a shame.
Packaging the three last-gen Ninja Gaiden games into one neat release, there's nothing wrong with the Master Collection per se: these are the same spectacular games you remember, but that's the issue.
Over-priced ports in a world full of brilliant remakes like Resident Evil 2 and the Crash N. Sane Trilogy just don't cut it anymore. At this price the selling point needs to be more than mere accessibility - especially when all three of these excellent hack-and-slashers are available on Xbox backwards compatibility anyway.
The collection didn't have to feature full-on remakes, but some substantial tweaking would have been welcome, and could have introduced the series to a whole new audience.
