10 Most Disappointing Video Games Of 2022

7. Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

There's nothing more deflating than a video game that has clear potential releasing before it's ready. We've seen botched launches take down everything from Cyberpunk 2077 to Battlefield 4 and sadly, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet is the latest casualty.

The second major Pokemon game this year, Scarlet & Violet by all accounts is an inspired, refreshing instalment in the long-running franchise. Expanding on the classic gameplay by implementing more open world, RPG elements and mini-games, it's the most ambitious sequel in years, but that ambition has come with a price.

That's because the latest Pokemon is, quite frankly, unacceptable. Plagued by bugs and glitches (some hilarious, others game breaking), there's no way this was developer Game Freak's intended vision. Production wise, it doesn't feel AAA, with ugly graphics and presentation dragging down what should be a vibrant and lived-in world.

This is one of the biggest franchises in the world, but it doesn't appear that the developers have the resources they require to produce a polished and premium experience. It feels like a product that's cut a lot of technical corners, which is so disappointing when the gameplay itself is this good.
