10 Most Iconic Weapons In Video Games

6. The Gravity Gun (Half-Life 2)

How do you showcase your brand new game engine? If you're Valve, you create one of the best first-person shooters of all time. Half-Life 2 wowed the gaming community when it first came out and even today, it's one of the best experiences around; the sheer scope of it is awe-inspiring. Not only did the game look great but it also had realistic physics, something that Valve were very happy to show off. One way was through the numerous see-saw puzzles; the other was through the Gravity Gun. You won't acquire the Gravity Gun until a decent portion of the game is already over but it'll quickly become a key tool in your arsenal. It allows you to manipulate objects in the environment and fire them at enemies with force, as well as creating cover or shifting items out of the way. Plus, it doesn't require ammo! The Gravity Gun's legendary prowess is helped by some neat level design; after acquiring the weapon, Gordon ventures into the zombie infested Ravenholm and the place is filled with items to launch at the infected, the sawblades being a particular favourite. By the time you clear Ravenholm, you'll be in awe of the power of the Gravity Gun and you'll be tearing apart levels in no time. The Gravity Gun's influence can be seen in many games now but nothing has come close to topping the original so far.

I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
