10 Most MADDENING Bosses In SoulsBorne Games
3. Orphan of Kos (Bloodborne: The Old Hunters)
Given the subject matter of this list, Orphan of Kos was an obvious shoe-in.
Indeed, when it comes to mania-inducing SoulsBorne bosses, few better to fit the bill than Bloodborne's placenta-wielding infant. The final boss of Bloodborne's superlative The Old Hunters expansion pack, Orphan of Kos is described in the game's lore as a life-form created specifically to kill monster hunters, of which the player is one. Suffice it to say, it's a task the eldritch Orphan excels at.
Of all the bosses on this list, it's the Orphan of Kos who most expertly tightropes across the line separating "frustration" and "elation". Make no mistake, the parent-deprived monstrosity's brutal, erratic fighting style will cause more than a few choice words to slip from your tongue. But unlike many other bosses on this list, the thrill of the fight never devolves into weary drudgery.
Whereas defeating many of the other bosses on this list provokes little more than relief (or, in the worst cases, resentment at having so much of your time wasted) beating Orphan of Kos offers a moment of sheer exhilaration that will have you howling in triumph like a wolf that's been anointed leader of the pack - a giddy, triumphant moment of euphoric insanity.
That's not something that can be said about the next entrant...
