10 Most Overlooked PS4 Gems Of 2017 (So Far)

4. Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age

You'd think that with Final Fantasy XV being multi-platform, XII's re-release would be too, but alas, it's only PS4 owners who can experience one of the most underrated Final Fantasies of them all.

Coming after the off-putting X-2 and the online-only FF XI, XII shook the foundations of the main instalments' turn-based combat, introducing a more MMO-style 'attack phase' system, also letting you program a number of "If X, then Y" A.I. routines for your companions.

The result is a semi-automated process of dungeon-clearing that lets you take a more overarching approach to duels, also complimenting the incredibly well-told story of warring states and faction revolts as you consider the wider scope of your actions.

Seriously, if Game of Thrones has prepared you for familial warfare and all sorts of Battle of the Bastards-style finales, Final Fantasy XII is the nearest thing to that show's mentality this franchise has ever delivered.
