First Appearance: Super Street Fighter II - The New Challengers

Super Street Fighter II - The New Challengers was the fourth version of Street Fighter II, released in 1993, and introduced four new playable characters. These were Dee Jay, a Jamaican kickboxer, Fei Long, a Hong Kong Hitenryu master, T. Hawk, a Native American hailing from Mexico, and Cammy White.

Cammy was originally one of M. Bison’s ‘Dolls’, along with characters like Juni, Juli and Decapre. However, unlike the other Dolls, Cammy was actually a clone of M. Bison instead of simply being a captured and brainwashed young girl. After rescuing the Dolls from M. Bison in Street Fighter Alpha 3, she joins the British ‘Delta Red’ Special Operations Unit. Cammy has amnesia at first but eventually regains her memories of her time with Bison.

Since appearing in both the Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter V series, Cammy has consistently been at the top of the competitive tier list. While she doesn’t have a specific fighting style, like most Street Fighter characters, she has a host of iconic special moves at her command. These include the ‘Spiral Arrow’, the ‘Cannon Strike’ and the ‘Hooligan Combination’.

Despite not being particularly strong in her debut appearance, she has often been prominently featured in Street Fighter’s story modes. Cammy’s offensive gameplay style has made her popular with fans resulting in her being one of the most recognisable Street Fighter characters.
