The Elder Gods are among the most powerful beings in the Mortal Kombat universe. One of them is Shinnok, the God of Death and the main antagonist of Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub Zero, Mortal Kombat 4, and Mortal Kombat X.
The Fallen Elder God was tempted by his lust for power and sought to invade Earthrealm. He planned on doing this with his amulet, an object that could allow him to travel between realms. His war was bloody with millions of lives lost but thanks to Raiden and the assistance of the other Elder Gods, Shinnok was defeated and banished to the Netherrealm.
Yet with the help of Quan Chi, the villain managed to regain power and obtain a powerful army of demons. In the game's universe, Shinnok's status as an Elder God prevents him from being killed while his amulet can turn opponents into dust.
