Onaga is the main antagonist of Mortal Kombat: Deception and is the one true ruler of Outworld. Having lived for centuries, he was betrayed by Shao Kahn but through scheming, he managed to regain power and make his eventual return.

The character is a true threat in the MK universe, as not even the combined strength of Raiden, Shang Tsung and Quan Chi were enough to defeat him. This is due to the Dragon King's natural strength, supplemented by the Kamidogu which he manipulated Shujinko into obtaining.

The Mortal Kombat X prequel comics even showed Onaga to be capable of regeneration. Any direct confrontation against him would spell doom against the opponent, and it was only through Nightwolf's sin eater ritual and Shujinko's powers that he was eventually repelled at the end of MK: Deception.

Because of Onaga's reputation as one of the series' heavy hitters, he has been alluded to in subsequent Mortal Kombat games with many character endings teasing his return. Hopefully Mortal Kombat 1 will see the Dragon King return once again.
