10 Most Shocking Roster Picks In WWE Games
5. The Masked Man (Smackdown Vs Raw 2009)
And now into the really strange entries...
Chris Jericho’s RTWM was a strange one for a number of reasons: it was the only heel story in the game, it has only the second weirdest Battle Royal in Road to WrestleMania history and it had one of the strangest unlockable characters in WWE gaming’s history.
During the story, Christ Jericho is repeatedly tormented by a Masked Man (who looks suspiciously like one of Muhammed Hussan’s allies). From DQing you during matches to fighting you backstage, The Masked Man is a crucial part of the story, and the story branches out depending on who you interrogate about being the culprit, with a different set of matches for each choice.
At the end of the entire story, you fight in an Extreme Rules Fatal 4-Way between You, Randy Orton, John Cena and Mr Kennedy. And your reward for completing this story is… The Masked Man.
In the other Road to WrestleManias, you are rewarded with characters like Tazz and The Boogeyman, but in Jericho’s, you’re given what’s essentially an Alternate Attire for an already established characters. Nothing about the Masked Man is worth putting him in the game.
