10 Most Underrated Video Games Of The Generation

7. Ruiner

Ruiner is a game that keeps you at arm's length for the majority of its runtime. It's a title that shows no affection but instead punishes you at each and every turn, forcing you to contend with bullet-hell runs and overwhelming visual bombards as cyberpunk-esque enemies barrage you with lasers. You will die, over and over, as you try to master a title that is one part twin-stick shooter and one part Hotline Miami slice 'n' dice runner.

And at the end of it all, despite the harrowing amount of defeats you've tasted, you'll ask for more. This is one of the most challenging, infuriating and yet rewarding games I've ever played, and while its visuals and outstanding soundtrack will be the immediate hook, it's the gameplay that punishes anything less than perfection that will see you sticking with it until the end.

Ruiner takes no prisoners and demands so much from you, including your attention before it fades away with the sands of time.
