10 Obscure Video Game Secrets That Took Years To Discover

4. Playing As Master Hand - Super Smash Bros Melee

One of the cooler glitches to ever surface from Melee was the ability to be able to control and play as the final boss of the game, the posthumous Master Hand. The glitch was rather simple but took a fair while to discover, with most videos covering this surfacing late into the 2000s.

It is a variant on the Name Entry glitch that allowed players to perform a variety of character glitches, of which the most notable and popular one was playing as Master Hand. Even though you could have all players in the group become Master Hand he was only controllable by player three.

Not only that, but playing as Master Hand was incredibly overpowered. You were unable to KO him as he had no knockback whatsoever.

Unless you were in stamina mode, it was guaranteed to have him win, regardless of player skill.
