10 Obvious Video Game Remakes The Industry Is Ignoring

1. Legacy Of Kain: Soul Reaver

If there was a formula to deduce which game deserved a reboot, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver would come out on top. Even though the first instalment, Blood Omen, was solid, this sequel improved in every department. Soul Reaver has been commended for its minimal loading times, magnificent soundtrack, focus on atmosphere, and elevated standard in voice-acting.

Despite the universal love Soul Reaver received, there hasn't been a whisper of the franchise for two decades.

Annoyingly, you can't blame the creators. Director, Amy Hennig, has been so busy with the Uncharted and Jak series, she hasn't had time to revisit the series. Crystal Dynamics have focused so much on Tomb Raider (with another in the way), it's hard for them to squeeze in time to work on anything else.

Nevertheless, you know a modern remake of Soul Reaver would sell like crazy. But it wouldn't just whet the appetite of die-hard fans. Because Soul Reaver was only available on the PlayStation and DreamCast, there are millions of gamers who are aware of its legacy, but never had the chance to experience it.

Rebooting this Legacy of Kain sequel wouldn't just scratch the nostalgic itch. If done right, it should reinvigorate the series for years to come.
