6. Hantu Island - Just Cause 2
Panau is a dangerous country - most places Rico Rodriguez visits are - but there's one place where even Panay's goons fear to go: Hantu Island.
What makes Hantu Island so dangerous is the fact that entering is a hell of a lot easier than leaving. See, there's a giant EMP generator on the island that will knock any plane you're flying out of the sky if you get too close. And while it's out of the way, there is still the chance that you'll fly a bit too close to this secret island and end up having to fight your way back out.
Who will you be fighting? Oh no one special, just the goddamn Teikoku Kaigun: the Imperial Japanese Navy!
Yeah as it turns out, Hantu Island was a part of Imperial Japan's naval operations back during WWII, but communications broke down after the war. So when Rico either crashes on the island, or goes there for a mission, he'll have to contend with an entire island of insane, elderly Japanese soldiers, who are still very convinced that the war is still on.
Best to just not bother, if you ask me.
