So many games based on wars contain a great deal of killing, of course they do it’s a game about a dangerous conflict, but what if they didn’t. What if instead, they focused on other issues such as survival, sacrifice, and friendship?

Well then, you should play Valiant Hearts The Great War.

Set During World War I, this game follows four individuals from different sides of the war as they face the horrific conflict and try to get a young man home. You will have to progress through multiple areas, sometimes while under heavy fire, to achieve your objective. As well as this, you may have to employ critical thinking to various puzzles or stealth, all in an attempt to survive this horrific conflict.

This game was created with the greatest care for historical accuracy, taking first-person accounts of individuals who were involved in the war. Valiant Hearts was praised at the time for its ability to allow people to learn about the true conflict while playing the game.

Valiant Hearts was not heavily criticised upon release, it was actually quite well received, but it went under the radar for the majority of people, and is simply something everyone should play.
