10 Perfect Gaming Remakes That Easily Beat The Originals
10. The Secret Of Monkey Island
Some people think that a classic game should never be changed but with minimal changes (like updating the art and graphics to current generation levels), a classic game can find a brand new audience to entertain. If ever a series deserved to be hugely popular, it's Monkey Island and the reworked versions of the first two games in the series, The Secret Of... and LeChuck's Revenge, have won over a whole new group of people. Originally released on a variety of systems like MS-DOS and Amiga, the original Secret Of Monkey Island looks incredibly dated by today's standards. The entire game received a hand-drawn update for a release in 2009 and it looks vastly better (it's even playable with an analogue stick now!). As a neat touch though, you can switch between the two versions of the game, allowing you to play through it as it looked originally (definitely a crowd-pleasing move). Being able to compare the new scenes with how they originally looked highlights the advancements made and it's all available with the touch of one button. Plus, it's another chance to visit the adventures of Guybrush Threepwood, gaming's mightiest pirate. Even after twenty years, this game is one of the funniest out there and that's a true testament to the writing of Ron Gilbert, Dave Grossman and Tim Schafer. Now where is the updated version of Curse Of Monkey Island, guys?
I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
