10 Perfect Short Video Games To Get You Through A Gaming Lull

5. Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons

It's always great to see a game try something exciting and new. Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons is a relatively simple game about two brothers on an adventure to heal their father using the fabled Tree Of Life. The game is made up of a series of trials and tribulations that the brothers must pass through on their journey, making for a bunch of interesting puzzles using some pretty unique gameplay features. You control both brothers simultaneously using a stick and trigger on the controller for each character. At first, this is absolutely mind bending as you struggle to manoeuvre the bros around but eventually, it'll click into place in your mind and you'll be racing through. Every section of the game requires you to use the brothers co-operatively in some fashion, like carrying a large pole through a maze, for example. The game also tells a phenomenal story even though neither brother actually speaks. Everything is told through what you see on the screen and it leads to some amazingly emotional final scenes which are both unexpected and heartbreaking. Brothers tells a better story than most high profile games and that's a real badge of honour for the developers. Brothers captures the grand sense of an adventure and makes a neat little puzzle game to go along with it. It's a short quest but it's definitely one that everybody should experience at least once; if only for the amazing climax.

I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
