4. "Real Games" Are DIFFICULT
Sit quietly a moment and you may hear it on the wind. The siren song of those with a love of gaming in their heart. Legends tell if you look in a mirror and ask how to defeat Theseus and Asterius on Extreme Measures mode in Hades, you too will hear the words...
"GIT GUD."
These are, of course, super helpful words that have solved all manner of problems. Especially those caused by accessibility issues or not having the time to sink hundreds of hours into Dark Souls/Bloodborne/Sekiro/delete as applicable.
But according to some, that's what makes them "real games" and asking for an easier ride on "real games" is akin to asking for stabilizers for the Tour De France. The challenge is the point. And that may be true... for those specific titles.
The wonderful truth is that video games have become a medium bigger than one definition. Just as fiction is diverse and broad enough that both Ulysses and The Devil Wears Prada can be brilliant in their own ways, gaming is the same!
Just because you can breeze through Life Is Strange or Portal in an afternoon doesn't cheapen those experiences or make them lesser. Just different, and that's ok!
