10 Promising 2019 Video Game Rumours You Need To Know
1. And Both Xbox And Playstation Are Following Suit
By now, you'll have heard plenty of talk about new Xbox and Playstation consoles coming to the market. If we look at past releases, the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 were made available in 2013, followed by the PlayStation Slim and Pro, and Xbox One S and X iterations, with both companies improving and releasing new versions of these consoles up to as recently as this year.
So realistically, it's been almost 5 years since the first wave of the latest generation consoles. The gap between the last generation was around 8 years, so it still feels a little early to be getting anything new: but if the ever-excitable internet is anything to go by, the Xbox Two and PlayStation 5 are exactly what we'll be getting by the end of next year. And it's not impossible either.
Both companies have confirmed they're working on the next generation consoles, though neither have given a confirmed timeline just yet. It's assumed that Xbox at the very least will be releasing two versions of their latest hardware, one that works as a streaming system from the cloud, and another that runs on physical disks with processing power out the wazoo.
4K TV seems to be running the show for consoles at any rate, so the latest iteration will want to fall in line with when most people have upgraded, many assuming next year. 2019 looks to be the year of the specs at the very least.
