10 Promising Upcoming 2019 Video Games - Ranked By Anticipation
3. Borderlands 3
The old joke goes that Borderlands 3 has been delayed for so long while the cover artists figured out how make the Psycho blow his brains out in three different ways.
Turns out, one of the original drafts featured exactly that, but with the eccentric looter shooter never one to do things the easy way, we instead get a deified Psycho apparently blessing a vigil.
It includes all the usual ingredients of the series so far, with a colourful cast of characters, hundreds upon hundreds of guns (including a gun with legs), elemental effects and skill trees with one unique skill per character.
Borderlands 3 has also picked up the slack in areas it had been lacking, adding relatively simple features like wall scrambling and cover sliding. It should help round off the clunky edges of Borderlands combat, something which had previously been glossed over by the game’s humour.
Promising a main storyline of around 35 hours, it’s as meaty as other instalments and with five years having passed since The Pre-Sequel, fans can’t wait to dive in and explore the Vaults (this time beyond Pandora) once more.
