Dialogue is the lifeblood of most video games in the modern day. How you interact with NPCs and vice versa can determine a lot about how the game plays out, but with this said, not every interaction you have with NPCs is easily available.

In fact, some dialogue and events can be so rare that most players don’t know they exist even after hundreds of hours!

Although most would assume interacting with an NPC is as easy as choosing a dialogue option, some interactions can only be triggered if you perform overly elaborate things that no one would think of unless they were deliberately testing the limits of the game.

Such interactions are extremely rare, and most players are bound to be surprised that certain NPCs have scenes with each other, say unlikely things to the player, and otherwise defy any and all expectations when it comes to video game dialogue.

Did you know your favorite Starfield companion can be a plant? Or that Grand Theft Auto V features a duel between a Bigfoot and a werewolf? If you’re curious to see what sort of unseen interactions you’ve missed, the following list is for you!

10. Simun Brambling's Debt - The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a somewhat linear game despite its open-world nature, but there are still a few things that the developers have prepared in case players did things out of order.

In fact, there is even a whole side quest that requires such a specific sequence of events to trigger that most people will not experience this interaction even after multiple playthroughs!

The quest happens on Skellige and triggers only if you take the right actions during several other side quests. First, you need to complete the “Phantom of Eldberg” contract before starting the coronation main quest, as this will result in your quest-giver being killed and Geralt being thrown into Madman Lugos’ prison.

Once there, you will have multiple options to escape, but to get the quest, you’ll have to speak with one of the prisoners, Simun Brambling, who will help you get out in exchange for a favor.

If you agree, a few days later, Simun will be waiting for you near Kaer Trolde tavern, where he will ask you to help him take revenge on his hunter, triggering his unmarked quest.

Settling the feud between Simun and his pursuer is a fairly simple task, but the specific requirements for starting the quest are a different story.
