10 Rare Versions Of Video Games You Didn't Know Exist
6. Resident Evil: Deadly Silence
At this point, you’re more likely to find a platform Capcom has ported the Resident Evil series to than ones they haven’t. But Resident Evil: Deadly Silence is one version you may not be aware of, coming out in 2006 on Nintendo DS to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the franchise.
Whilst most ports have used the 2002 Gamecube remake as their basis, Capcom instead used the original 1996 version for this release, most likely due to technical limitations.
It featured two different modes, “Classic mode” that featured minimal enhancements to the original experience and “Rebirth Mode”, utilising the touchscreen and built-in microphone via a new series of puzzles and more enemies, also updating gameplay mechanics to include features present in Resident Evil 3 and 4.
Featuring co-op and competitive multiplayer modes, it proved to be a worthy handheld port for the original game and if you needed a Resident Evil fix on the go, it served well.
