10 Rarest Video Game Costumes NOBODY Unlocked
4. Mario & Luigi Costumes - Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate was released on the Nintendo 3DS back in October 2014 with a wide array of awesome and unique outfits to unlock in its world.
However, none are as fashionable or funky as the Mario and Luigi outfits you can get from the DLC "Starter Pack" that was released in February of 2015. The DLC contained the ability to make either Mario or Luigi's outfit for the Palico, your little cat companion. Unfortunately, there were not enough materials given to be able to create both outfits, so players would have to choose between the iconic plumber or the iconic ghost hunter.
Sadly the DLC is no longer available, so if you didn't get these outfits way back when, you've missed out forever. This was a limited-time event that lasted until March 15th of 2015.
After then, the DLC was removed, stopping you from downloading and creating the outfits. The DLC was a big promotional opportunity for both Mario and Monster Hunter, something Nintendo loves to do with their IPs. Just look at the Zelda and Xenoblade event from Breath of the Wild as one example.
