10 Reasons Warhammer 40K Is The Greatest Hobby In The World Right Now

1. Value For Money

Playing 40K isn't the cheapest hobby. Individual figures can go for hundreds of pounds. Then there's the paint, glue and other supplies needed to make and paint an army, not to mention the rule books and Codexes for actually playing the game. The costs soon start racking up for those players keen to collect a wide selection of models and command multiple armies.

But 40K represents great value for money for the dedicated hobbyist. Sure the startup costs are high. But each figure represents untold hours of fun in terms of design, painting and playing. There are ways to lower the costs too. Basic starter sets run to the cost of a night out or two and provide better long-term value without threatening a raging hangover.

There's always the risk that a 40K gets so into the fandom and can't help but spend more of their money on new figures. But every purchase is better value for money than many disposable indulgences.
