10 Reasons We Need Bloodborne 2 Instead Of Dark Souls 4
5. We Need Answers!
While the way FromSoftware depicts their stories, that is to say barely, is the point which divides most players. Some enjoy the fact that the world Is mysterious and it takes some serious sleuthing to figure out the story, while others stumble from tentacle monster to tentacle monster to blood-crazed hunter, wondering just what in the world is happening.
It works for a lot of people and doesn’t for others, but there is a definite need for a base ground-work of solid answers, so the series doesn’t succumb to the same pitfalls as Dark Souls. And what really sucks is the story that is there is incredibly interesting, but it needs to be grounded with facts that reliably reveal the story of the game. Instead of relying on player intuition to discover that eating three thirds of an umbilical cord will summon the final boss and turn you into a squid baby! The good ending! Spoilers…
Sequels are a vessel to right the wrongs of the original and Bloodborne could make a great one, one that answers a certain amount of answers in the same manner they currently go about it. Only with a little more and a the details a little less cryptic. I love the manner in which the game reveals its secrets, but there is a reason that fans always say they play the game and then let VaatiVidya figure out the story for them. And that needs to be rectified with a sequel.
Umbilical cords… really? I mean what genius was like, “Oh I’ll just eat these umbilical cords, oops I’ve summoned the manifestation of Paleblood itself. Who woulda thunk it!” Honestly… Why?
