7. The BFG Is The Most Powerful Video Game Weapon Ever
The Big F***ing Gun has a grand tradition in video game history, arguably more so than any other fictional weapon.
By default, its power cannot be bested, because when you fire it, everything on the screen dies. Simple. The BFG was the coveted trophy of every Doom game, and acquiring one warranted your best shot at sending every demon packing, though the wiser of players knew to wield it sparingly.
Throughout the ages, the BFG has been reinvented several times over, with each makeover updating the brutality of the weapon. Let's also not forget the mega-neat Quake interpretations. However, irrespective of whether it's the classic type or modern, there comes a familiar sense of comfort in basking in that warm glowing green energy burst of death.
The most recent incarnations of Doom lore have reminded us that the good old BFG is still one of the most uncomplicated and devastating guns available to the gaming world. More imaginative weapons may have come and gone since, but we don't love the BFG any less for it.
