10 Recent Video Game Bombs NO ONE Saw Coming
5. The First Berserker: Khazan (2025)
Before starting this one, let's clarify one thing - The First Berserker: Khazan is a banger of a game. This hardcore action RPG is an adrenaline-pumping, thrill-inducing title that tells a compelling revenge story. If you've played it, then you likely already know this; if you haven't, then you have probably, at least, heard similar things.
So why did it sell so badly?
Despite the very positive reception the game got from critics and audiences, it was not a success from a sales standpoint. Nexon, the publishers, reported (via Games Radar) that the game's first-quarter earnings came in "below our outlook," with the title's revenue failing to match up to the prestige it received in reviews. The good news, however, is that Nexon still called the game a success despite the underperforming financials.
According to the same report, the main goal with Khazan was to act as the first step in introducing the Dungeon & Fighter video game series to a global audience. Ultimately, while this game did bomb, it might be the first blast for the DNF IP, at least if things go according to Nexon's plan.
