When Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection was released, fans were left dumbfounded that Konami showed so little respect for one of their most beloved IP.

Even accepting that Konami never promised anything more than fairly standard ports of the earlier games in the series, fans were dismayed by poor textures, audio glitches, and the absence of even basic resolution and control options.

Hell, Konami themselves even admitted that the launch wasn't up to snuff, but it was almost a full year before they dropped a patch which more-or-less brought the compendium up to the expected standard.

The 2.0 patch finally fixed most of the aforementioned issues, namely unlocking resolution options and adding comprehensive mouse controls, as well as introducing the ability to switch between classic and high-res cutscenes.

But it was almost another two months before the patch was finally made available for consoles, at which point it could be said that Konami finally gave the series the port collection it actually deserved.

Konami has promised fans that Volume 2 of the Master Collection won't have the same issues, but you're probably best off waiting for reviews before throwing down your money.
