9. Obtain A Togepi
The Pokémon anime series was just as big a hit as the Game Boy games themselves, following the adventures of Ash Ketchum and friends. While the first season of Pokémon focused primarily on the original generation of Pokémon, we did get glimpses of the Pokémon yet to come. As well as Ho-Oh briefly appearing in the very first episode, Misty gains herself a Togepi after it hatches from a mysterious egg. The Togepi episodes were aired years before the arrival of Pokémon Gold and Silver in the West, and it proved to be a popular creature among fans of the franchise. Naturally, it was rumoured that Togepi could be acquired in Pokémon Red and Blue. The most common theory was that a Togepi egg would be given to any players that completed their Pokédex by Professor Oak. Other theories ranged from finding it in the (non-existent) Grampa Canyon, to uncovering one in a certain characters garden
