Isaac Clarke, in his appearance in the original Dead Space, showed us that it's impossible to sympathise and connect with a silent character who trudges along with a bucket over his head. Gears of War's own Marcus Fenix, on the other hand, illustrated how the lone addition of voice acting cannot make a gorilla with a bandanna-topped bucket for a head any more personable. Maybe it's the COG armor. Maybe the Locust presence is beginning to affect humans in more ways than we know. Whatever the case, it's always a good laugh to try and imagine the over-muscled Gears of War crew, especially Marcus, doing anything that doesn't involve chainsaw-equipped auto rifles. Putting on a shirt must be an absolute nightmare.
A freelance games writer, you say? Typically battling his current RPG addiction and ceaseless perfectionism? A fan of horror but too big a sissy to play for more than a couple of hours? Spends far too much time on JRPGs and gets way too angry with card games?
Well that doesn't sound anything like me.
