7. Jetstream Sam (Metal Gear Rising)
If there is one thing Platinum Games and the Metal Gear series have in common it's that they make some amazing boss fights. When Jetstream Sam first appears, he cuts out your eye and removes your arm in a fight you aren’t meant to win. Yet, when you finally reach his boss fight, it seems sad.
No big explosions. No crazy setting. Just you, Sam, and nothing else. Meeting him in the desert for a final duel.
As Sam’s DLC story later explains, he used to be like Raiden which is why he parallels him in the story so well. But where Sam abandons his morals, you stick with them. Using a similar high-frequency blade to your own, he fights you sword-to -sword.
You strike him down, not in a crazy way like all the bosses before him, but just a simple stab. Sam entrusts his sword to Bladewolf and it becomes key to beating the final boss, showing there was still a good man in him.
To top it all off, Sam had almost no cybernetics built into him and everything he did was his own skill. Robot parts don't always make you stronger, or cooler.
