Whilst Amnesia might have lost some of its bite in the years after release, The Dark Descent is undoubtedly one of the most influential games of its kind. Delivering a world of chest-tightening fear as Daniel attempts to escape an evil force hunting him down, players have to avoid a shadowy nightmare intent on his destruction, wearing down his sanity with each appearance of its gatherers' torn, ragged faces and pasty bodies.
