The Sims games are known for their bizarre atmosphere. From cow-plants to ghosts, the world of the cartoonish Sims is filled with oddities that make it charming and sometimes terrifying.

Most of the absurdity in The Sims hits you when you least expect it. This is certainly the case with this one extraterrestrial secret in Sims 2 that's the consequence of a rather inconsequential decision.

In Sims 2, if you choose to use the telescope, your Sim might become the victim of an alien abduction! When you order your Sim to gaze at the stars at night, there is a small chance the action will trigger a cutscene in which your terrified Sim is tractor-beamed onto an alien spaceship.

From then on, things get only more serious and stranger. Your Sim will disappear from the lot for a few hours, their needs will change rapidly, and when the aliens finally let them go, if your Sim is a male, they will come back pregnant with an alien child.

What? You thought you could study astronomy without becoming an interstellar parent? That’s like expecting to get out of a swimming pool without a ladder!
