Crusader Kings 3 is a grand strategy game about running an entire dynasty of monarchs throughout all of the Middle Ages, so certain events naturally take a long time to develop.

One of them can even take your character's entire childhood, but the secret reward is definitely worth the wait!

Educating your child heirs is crucial for turning them into competent rulers. You usually want someone on your court to do it so that the heir is safe from foreign threats.

However, if you decide to risk it and send them to another country for education, you can secretly unlock a special event when they finally grow up and take the throne.

If the child received their education in a more advanced country, when they grow up, they can trigger an event called "All We Are Not," in which they take everything they learned from your smarter neighbors and use it to improve your kingdom.

The event chain is a great way to help your country catch up economically and technologically, as it grants several big boosts to your development and can even let you build a university for cheap before anyone else has unlocked them!

A good education is a powerful thing!
