10 Seriously Hard Video Game Bosses That Divide Fans

2. M. Bison - Street Fighter II

Since the early days of gaming, cheap bosses have plagued every genre. However, such adversaries are surprisingly common in fighting games. I mean, look at Jinpachi, Shao Kahn, Azazel, Galactus, or Master Hand.

Of course, how can anyone forget the grandaddy of them all, M. Bison? The Shadaloo leader can sweep you off your feet or hurl you around, even if you're blocking. He can disable almost any special move with a single kick. His defining attack, the Psychocrusher, eats up a third of your health bar. Simply put, M. Bison seems like the definitive cheap boss.

But with the benefit of hindsight, M. Bison is actually the fairest villain in the franchise. Other Street Fighter bosses like Gill and Seth are far less fair, since they rely on regenerating health and unblockable combos. M. Bison's fighting pattern in the Street Fighter Alpha series is less reasonable, because he relies on input-reading.

Now, that doesn't mean M. Bison in Street Fighter II isn't infuriating. But since he's the final opponent, he was never going to fight fair, was he? He may be a nightmare, but M. Bison does provide an extraordinary challenge, which any true gamer craves.
