There are many different iterations of this exact death across the series, but the one in Sims 4 might be the most detailed of the bunch.

Whenever you use a telescope in the game, there is a small percent chance that your act of celestial voyeurism will anger the stars so much that they will suddenly hurl a meteor at you.

In the previous games, like The Sims 3, the meteor appearing would be equal to an instant death. However, the Sims 4 is forgiving enough to give you a twenty-second warning before the giant space rock will pulverize your poor Sim.

When the event triggers, you will see a special moodlet appear, telling you to head inside, and you better do what it says quickly, because once it disappears and you're still outside, you will be crushed under a fiery meteor straight from the sky.
