6. Heavy Rain - The Identity Of The Origami Killer

Heavy Rain can be described as an interactive Martin Scorsese thriller. The player rotates between four central characters as the game progresses. Each character is connected in some way, and each are trying to uncover the identity of a serial killer responsible for the deaths of several children.

As the game nears its epic climax, the player discovers that one of the characters they've been controlling is actually responsible for all the heinous crimes. Not only that, but the villain is actually a retired cop with a soft heart. Unless the player was clairvoyant, or simply had the ending ruined for them, chances are that the player was totally blown away by this revelation. Can you think of another game where the player-controlled protagonist is actually the sinister, twisted antagonist? Me neither!
